Malcolm Skingle, who led GlaxoSmithKline’s Academic Liaison unit, will share his extensive experience in fostering U-I partnerships in the pharmaceutical sector. For nearly 30 years, Skingle worked closely with government departments, research councils, and universities in both the United States and the UK, building networks that advance research and innovation.
Skingle will discuss strategies for aligning academic research with industry needs and share insights from his leadership roles on various advisory boards, including the UK Research and Innovation Infrastructure Advisory Committee. Additionally, Skingle will highlight his role in establishing the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) and discuss the contractual agreements that underpin such large-scale collaborations between academia and industry.
