Cornell faculty interested in the Pew Charitable Trusts Biomedical Scholars 2027 Program are invited to join a special internal information session featuring Donna Dang, PhD, Principal Associate and Sarah Kelly, Senior Associate of the Pew Charitable Trusts.
This session will provide an overview of the Pew Biomedical Scholars Program and what makes for a competitive proposal. The Scholars Program is an annual and highly regarded early-career award that supports young investigators of outstanding promise in science relevant to the advancement of human health. It offers:
- Funding of $75,000 per year for four years ($300,000 total) to support independent research, with flexible support for the scholar's general research aims
- Supports particularly creative and pioneering approaches to basic, translational, and applied biomedical research
- Encourages candidates whose work brings in concepts from diverse fields beyond traditional biomedical sciences
- Available only to scholars who hold full-time assistant professor appointments and have been running an independent lab for no more than three years
- Cornell's internal submission deadline is March 23, 2026.
