Some sponsors limit the number of nominations or proposals that Cornell (including Weill Cornell Medicine) may submit to a particular program. These special limited submission competitions are coordinated by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.

Review and Decisions

The Faculty Senate's Research Advisory Committee reviews the nominations/proposals received and then selects the submissions to go forward based on how closely the proposed research matches the sponsor's interests and thus has the best opportunity for success.

Learn about Current Limited Submission Funding Opportunities

Limited Submission opportunities are announced on the CU-RES-ADMIN-L email list. Instructions for joining are on the Join Research Mailing Lists page. You may also view currently open Limited Submission opportunities by visiting Cornell University Limited Submissions and choosing OSP in the drop-down menu in the top-left screen.

Current Program List

Currently the Council reviews nominations and proposals for the programs on this page. This is by no means an exhaustive list. If you're considering applying to a limited submission program not listed below, contact Kim Holloway, Carmel Lee, or Hayley Kresock.

Why no deadline information? Sponsor deadlines occur throughout the year and typically change from year to year. Some invitations are not issued every year. Therefore, the deadline date for submitting materials to the internal review process is not included on the following list.

Weill Cornell Medicine also maintains a Limited Submissions page.
